Accessibility and Usability of this Site
If you got to this page via a direct link from another site it means we designed that site. On this page we explain a bit about the structure and abilities of the site.
Screen readers and Braille displays
If you use a screen reader or a braille device we urge you to use the "screen reader style sheet". It does not take control of your browser, it does not change voice, pitch, frequency or other important stuff. But it does unhide certain elements on the page that may benefit you. For example; throughout the page we have included links that enable you to skip to navigation, content, up or down.
High Contrast
All our pages have two alternative style sheets for people with low vision. The font is set at twice the normal size and you can choose between dark font on light background or light font on dark background.
Choosing between style sheets can be done by clicking on the link provided on the page (not all our clients want this implemented) or by choosing a different style sheet from the menu in your browser.
Sequence
The sequence our web sites use for content is always:
- Choice of language
- Choice of style sheet
- Page navigation
- Header
- Site navigation
- Page navigation
- Main content
- Page navigation
- Sub-content
- Page navigation
- Footer
Page navigation is only available in screen reader style sheets.
Printer friendly
Our sites are printer friendly. This means they have a seperate style sheet especially for printers. Just choose "Print" from the "File menu" and only the important bits on the page will be printed. All navigation, images, etc. are stripped automatically.
Feedback
We try to make our sites as accessible and as usable as possible. But we need your input for this. Please, please send us your comments, ideas and complaints!
